User experiencing issue with monitor not recognizing full refresh rate when connected to laptop, seeking assistance on how to enable higher refresh rates.

“So i got an asus monitor and asus laptop, my monitor is 144hz and i have the gaming mode activated to overclock to 120fps, however i cannot see the option to switch to 120hz from the setting menu, what do i do? the hdmi i use is the same one i use on my xbox which can show 120fps what do i do?”
